Model B 10E Motorbike restored

Quoted from the original 1933 catalog…

“It is a great source of much pride to us to present the industry with this catalogue of Arnold, Schwinn fine bicycles. Particularly we are proud of the new Arnold, Schwinn Ballon Tire Bicycles, representing the first major improvement in bicycles since the advent of the coaster brake, nearly 50 years ago.”

What are balloon tires?

Balloon tires are simply a tire with an inner tube, the sort we still use today. Before 1933 virtually every bike in America had tires that had only a tire without an inner tube. The balloon tire was also much wider than the tires that had previously been used on bikes.
